Royal Docklands Regeneration & Revitalisation
Planning for interaction
Historically, the site has struggled with interaction due to the natural barrier of water segregating communities. Our vision statement aims to increase the sense of connectivity with the water by creating a place to interact with. Whilst doing so we must keep in mind post covid regulations for a resilient and sustainable community.

Water activities
-
The stretch of water will act as an addition to the open space. There will be space for, water sports, water festivals and space for the public to sit and enjoy the scenery. This will activate the waterfront and encourage social cohesion.

-
The dock next to Silo D will be the play zone waterfront, to the right of the Silo-D bridge, will be active water-focused activities. This will be maintained with covid precautions through cleaning equipment after use and allowing a certain number of people in.

Community project
-
Community projects will be run by the Neighbourhood Council, with partnerships of private companies who can offer equipment and training for learning new skills. The Newham Council will manage and set up community workshops, for support and guidance regarding employment.

-
There will be a partnership with the local university of East London for skill learning.

-
Gazebos will be set up by locals and can be purchased for a fair price to those that wish to set up and take part in events. In relation to the Covid 19 pandemic, social distancing will be permitted if needed by the use of one-way systems. Due to the large area of space, the site can withstand this issue.

Ways of interaction
-
Feedback websites: Access to technology gives an opportunity for rapid feedback from the local community. This could be to create awareness of what's going on in a more effective and accessible way.
-
Community outreach: Having a persistent space on site where people can visit for questions would enable connections with community members who might not be involved in community groups in the area.
-
Online meetings: Community meetings for discussions can take place online in case it is not accessible to do so in person. This broadens the variety of feedback and knowledge of the admin.
-
Adverts: Interaction opportunities will be advertised in newspapers and magazines.
