Bristol Harbour

  • Like the Royal Dockland area, Bristol was prone to the deindustrialisation impacts from the introduction to containerisation.

  • There has been a partnership with the public and private sector which the relationship is similar to the Greater London Authority and the Lendlease group.

  • Like our vision, the Bristol City council land use aim was targeted towards making use of the waterfront. This included creating use of the area for day and night economy uses.

  • The use of historical architecture such as old warehouses and boats serve as an identity focus point that can be implemented on our site.

  • Key ideas for identity ideas that can be implemented to our site include public community art, Galleries, markets, festivals, community sports activities and reuse of materials for decking and pedestrian furniture. This will bring a sense of historical identity to a wider scope of the site.
